With the help of IRCTC's online reservation site (www.irctc.co.in), individuals can book his/her online reservation tickets with relieve. IRCTC involves in handling online booking. The online booking system has been launched on 3rd August 2002 in India with the collaboration of the Centre for Railway Information Systems. Earlier, people used to stand in long queues in front of the reservation counters, but now online ticket booking has made things easier to a great extent.


Those people who do not have internet connections at home can use cyber café for online reservation booking. After filling the form, your ticket amount will be automatically deducted from your bank account. Even, one can use credit cards for making online ticket booking payments.


Nowadays, people are making reservations online who do not have much time. There are two types of tickets namely I-tickets and E-tickets that are offered via online. E-ticket is known as electronic ticket provided by Indian Railway. After appearing your e-ticket in your desktop, you can use this ticket along with an identity card.

I-tickets are known as Indian Railway tickets that should be booked some days prior to the actual date of journey. I-tickets are sent through courier to the provided address in the form but travelers have to pay a small fee including the courier charges.
