In a scenario
where fleets of vehicles
are flowing on a continuous
stream, the manual payment
of toll would cause delay,
resulting in vehicular jam
at the toll gate of the
Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.
Hence the easy and convenient
payment tool called SMART
TAG was introduced. It
is an electronic device
in the size of a computer
mouse.
The new/charged Tag is
fixed on the windscreen
behind the rearview mirror
of the vehicle. The vehicle
need only to slow down
to 20 km/hr at the gate
and the sensor would read
the Tag and record the
transaction and it will
be indicated by a beep
inside your vehicle. Smart
Tag works similar to a
debit card and has no
expiry and can be recharged.
•
The Smart Tag
is vehicle specific and
cannot be used or exchanged
for other vehicles.
•
Any tampering with
the Tag would result in
hot-listing of the account.
If any loss of the Smart
Tag, it should be reported
within 48 hours.
•
The Tag need be
fixed at the stipulated
spot of the vehicle. Hand-holding
may cause malfunctioning.
