PREFACE
Another
year is going to say goodbye
to us forever. As we get
ready to embrace the New
Year with lots of hope,
seldom we pay attention
to, Oh! How the years
go by! The thought is
supposed to be a preserve
of retired pensioners, who
have nothing but their past
to ponder over. In an age
of emphasis on youth, everybody
just wants to attend rave
parties to usher in another
new dawn. Just try to think,
how all this system of counting
hours, days, weeks, months,
years and ages began? One
would say nobody has time
to think of trivial things.
But trivia can be more often
than not very interesting.
Human minds innate curiosity
makes him to thin and ponder
over these trivia. We, at
hotgurgaon, have tried to
compile some interesting
known and unknown trivia
about New Year celebrations
in different civilizations,
about facts and fictions
behind origin of months
names, that of days names.
This is our endeavour to
salute the undying zeal
by which human civilization
has survived and grown through
ages. Following are the
Famous New Year trivia.
